Our goal at Arizona Smile Design is to reduce the life-threatening risk of this disease by providing routine screenings to increase the chances of early diagnosis. When we’re able to spot the initial symptoms before the disease spreads, the chances of survival are drastically higher. For this reason, we’ll conduct a thorough examination of your oral tissues, lips, and throat every six months in search of any abnormalities.

Some people are more prone to cavity development than others, especially younger patients who are still learning how to take care of their smiles. That’s why we offer protective dental sealants to prevent the accumulation of sugars and bacteria in the grooves and pits of the molars. We’ll apply a thin, clear layer of dental plastic over the biting surfaces of these at-risk teeth and harden it, allowing the sealants to act like small shields that can last for up to 10 years!

Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that helps strengthen the protective outer layer of your teeth (called the enamel). For our younger patients who aren’t receiving enough of it, we’ll likely suggest fluoride treatment. When we place the topical fluoride gel on the teeth, it will act to fortify them and provide them with added protection from cavities.

Nightly teeth grinding, also known as bruxism, can have a permanent impact on your oral health, facial muscles, and jaw joints if it goes untreated.
